Fresh Green Light provides assistance to teen drivers in achieving their licenses safely. The app enables both teens and parents to track the hours required by state law to fulfill a Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) or learner’s permit.

Emphasizing the significance of practice, GDL laws were established following studies that demonstrated the effectiveness of practicing with a parent, guardian, or experienced driver in producing safer drivers. The application ensures that practice time is completed while offering impartial feedback on the key risks present during each drive.

Identifying issues early on is crucial during this pivotal stage of practice driving. Once detrimental habits are established, changing them becomes challenging. The app can address missed coaching opportunities or reinforce existing advice. It serves as a technology ally during this critical period where the stakes are high.

How It Works:
Through GPS on their phones, drivers initiate and conclude driving trips to log their time behind the wheel. (Disclaimer: Continued use of GPS running in the background may significantly reduce battery life.) Distractions are detected if other apps are accessed while the driving session is being recorded.

Advanced Street Data Subscription:
An in-app purchase offers an optional subscription at $5 per month, delivering:

 <li>Speeding data against posted limits, including stats on average speed over the limit and more</li>
 <li>Incidents of acceleration and hard braking near traffic lights indicating potential red-light violations</li>
 <li>Occurrences of speeding close to traffic lights</li>
 <li>Observations of rolling through stop signs</li>
</ul>

The total driving score incorporates these additional insights when the subscription is active. The stated price caters to U.S. users and renews automatically 24 hours before expiry unless auto-renewal is disabled. Renewals incur identical charges, with payments processed through your iTunes account at purchase confirmation.

You retain the option to deactivate auto-renewal after purchase via your iTunes Account Settings, though no refunds apply for unused subscription periods. Any remaining free trial period will be forfeited upon subscription activation.
